Tuesday Tips
@ChrisKlinger shared the hackiest of hacks with me last year. It led to a significant change as I practiced this tiny habit from BJ Fogg. (See his Ted Talk here: https://youtu.be/2L1R7OtJhWs)
I have reflected on this simple habit based on an interaction I had in a store last week. The lady ringing me out said, “ “Happy New Year. It has been a tough year. I hope 2022 is better.” In that moment I realized that it had actually been a great year for me. One reason why is this habit to start the day. Maybe you can try it for a while to test it. It seems that the benefit accumulates over time and leads to a general sense of happiness.
Each morning, as you get out of bed and your feet touch the floor, simply say out loud “It’s going to be a great day!” Even better, state the same again to the first person you see. In my case, it is my son Breandan who meets me with a hug. (That surely contributes to my great days.)
This is so simple yet effective. It primes your brain to start the day on a positive note. Each great day leads to a great week, which leads to a great month, which leads to a great year.
